Saturday, December 14.  Annual Holiday Party at Ann McNulty’s house.  Details in our December newsletter.

January, 2025

Saturday, January 11.  Discussion of Lobby Week.  Edmonds College Snohomish Hall, Room 338.  We will be discussing upcoming Lobby week and the vetted bills AAUW WA will be following.  Come and find out which bills AAUW WA State will be supporting in the upcoming legislative session.   We will also be discussing branch fundraising ideas and ongoing needs to fundraise.

Monday, January 27.  State Lobby day via Zoom.  Zoom link/registration on AAUW WA state website.

February, 2025

Saturday, February 8.  Women and Ageism.  We will be having a speaker from AARP join us to talk about Ageism and how it affects women’s health, work and family life.  Edmonds College Snohomish Hall, Room 338.

March, 2025

Saturday, March 8.  An Overview of Autism for parents and grandparents.  Tanya St. John of the University of Washington will talk about under-diagnosed autism in youth, and how girls especially are getting under-diagnosed.  Dr. St. John is a clinical psychologist at the UW Autism Center with more than 14 years of experience.  Edmonds College Snohomish Hall, Room 338.

April, 2025

Saturday, April 12.  A Pink Tea Party and Debbie Dimitri.  AAUW will be hosting a Pink Tea party much like the ones held during the suffrage movement in the early 1900’s.  Tickets will be available online and at our branch meetings.  Hats and gloves optional but encouraged!  Once again, Debbie Dimitri will use her talents as story teller to bring to life Alice Stokes Paul (1885 – 1977) who was an American Quaker suffragist, feminist and women’s rights activist.  Paul was one of the foremost leaders and strategists of the campaign for the Nineteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which prohibits sex discrimination in the right to vote.  Paul initiated, and along with Lucy Burns and others, strategic events such as the Woman Suffrage Procession and the Silent Sentinels, which were part of the successful campaign that resulted in the amendment’s passage in August 1920.  Edmonds College Woodway Hall Room 202.

October, 2024

Saturday, October 4, 5-8 pm.  Our Annual “An Evening of Art for Scholarships”.  Join artists and art collectors for an Inspiring Evening of Art and Empowerment – our major scholarship fundraiser!  Location:  Washington State University Everett, 915 North Broadway Everett, WA 98201.  Tickets are $25.00 – early bird tickets are $20 before September 9th.  Raffle tickets are $5.00 and can be prepaid before the event.  Click here to buy tickets

Saturday, October 19.  A statewide meeting Renton Technical college in Renton.  Theme:  “Telling Our Stories”.  Hear great speakers and watch the movie “Arise” (See AAUW WA state website for movie trailer).  Registration is available at 2024 In-person Statewide Meeting.   $40 includes lunch.  We can arrange car pooling down there and there is financial support to attend for the day including reimbursement of mileage/gas.

November, 2024

Saturday, November 16.  Zoom meeting.  Joint meeting with Seattle branch.  The program title is:  “The Politics of bathroom access and exclusion in the US”.  The presenter is Sara Chatfield, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Political Science, University of Denver.  She is the author of the book:  “In Her Own Name: the Politics of Women’s Rights before Suffrage.”  Free registration required at:  The Politics of Bathrooms
